My mom's story is one of resilience, courage, and faith—a testament to her determination to not let life's circumstances define her future. I’m honored to share the launch of her newest website, a project that embodies her incredible spirit. Below, I’ll take you through the process of bringing this project to life.

"I've been where many survivors are... Not knowing if healing from abuse is really possible. Not sure where to go for help."
"Over 25 years ago, as a survivor of sexual abuse, I struggled to find support. Despite reading books, attending support groups, and seeing therapists, I couldn't find the right fit. After searching for a few years, I finally found a therapist specializing in sexual abuse, and my life changed.
Now, I'm fulfilling a promise I made long ago—to create a place for survivors to heal. Through my online membership (HEAL), podcast (The Wendy M. Johnson Show), and coaching (HEAL Coaching), as well as other courses, I'm here to support others on their healing journey because I understand what it's like and I also know what it feels like to be on the other side of healing and I want you to experience the same freedom!"

STYLE GUIDE
A key focus for my mom’s branding was creating a sense of hope, possibility, and transformation. Since abuse is a heavy topic, she didn’t want her website to feel like another weight to carry—she wanted it to feel like a personal oasis for healing. Her love for the beach made nature-inspired imagery the perfect choice, capturing the peace and renewal she hopes to offer her audience.

Together, we selected the final images that best represent her brand. With the help of graphic designer, Camille, we then expanded the vision into a cohesive set to align each web page and service visually.

VIDEO CREATION
Together, and with the help of graphic designer Camille, we curated a series of video clips to bring the brand to life on the website. Some clips were filmed by me, while others were sourced from royalty-free libraries.
- Home Page: ocean scenes are both custom and royalty free videos
- Speaker page: custom video from downtown chicago
- Footer: Custom product video. videographer, nick sales, handled filming and audio. I edited video by adding b-roll and selected music.

Crafting the Digital Experience
- Content Development – Handled by Wendy to ensure her voice and messaging aligned with her brand.
- Template Customization – We refined the layout, adjusting banners that didn’t fit the page purpose and content.
- Custom Banner Design – We identified areas needing custom banners to enhance content presentation.
With the branding, content, and strategy blueprint in place, I crafted each page to align with Wendy’s vision. She reviewed each page and provided feedback, which I then implemented to refine the final design.
